| The night before arriving in Nuku Hiva we had a big party and when I woke up in the morning and looked out my porthole, I discovered that the boat was already moored in Taiohae Bay. I had slept in and had to hurry down to catch the launch to shore as we would be staying but a scant few hours, we had just enough time to walk down the beach. I remember looking for fruit of any kind as the food on the boat left alot to be desired. My short visit ashore was like a dream and too soon we had to return to the ship. Never did I imagine then that I would one day return to Nuku Hiva to build a back to nature cabin deep in an isolated valley. |
